Hey,

it’s me

Food and eating have always been my first love and passion, leading me to gain a degree in Culinary Management from George Brown College. After working behind the line amongst some of Toronto’s culinary legends I’ve broken free from the restaurant world and expanded to the creative side of the food industry. My years spent in the weeds gave me a vast knowledge base and the kind of hustle that only line cooks possess.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in Literature and Critical Theory from the University of Toronto with a focus on cookbooks, I am now pursuing my Master’s degree in food studies from New York University.

My written work seeks to offer a fun and engaging relationship with food, by letting the reader explore the world through my eyes and taste buds. I add my personal touch to anything from newsletters for a cooking school, copy on product packaging, to even writing and publishing my own zine style guide to the best bagels in Toronto.  I’ve also had my work published in indie magazines like Food& and Guts, and was a contributing writer to the Fat Girl Food Squad.

There’s nothing I love more than to watch people play with their food. The way people’s eyes light up when experiencing food in a creative, novel way is what drives me. Seeking that out is what led me to work in creative event design at some of the most fun events in the world;  like a dinner of reclaimed produce at Roskilde in Denmark, or a 90’s nostalgia themed cafe at the Atomic Lollipop festival in Canada to name a couple.

I am currently offering my services as a writer, content creator and event designer on a freelance basis.  I can bring value to your product, restaurant or event by allowing people to let loose and creating a fun and whimsical vibe.

Feel free to email me all your crazy ideas here, and let’s play with our food. I’ll bring the snacks!

My name is Geo Peck and I am a culinary creative, writer and chef from Toronto, currently working, living and eating in New York City.
